Shrink photos and screenshots in your browser — resize, set quality, convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP. Nothing is uploaded.

Drop an image here, or choose a file

JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF · max 25 MB

How to use this tool

  1. Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (or click to browse).
  2. Set quality, optionally cap the longest side, and pick an output format.
  3. Compare original vs compressed size and preview.
  4. Download the result when you like the tradeoff.

Compress, resize, and convert — privately

Most “online compressors” upload your file to a server. DevDock runs in the browser instead: useful for product screenshots, portfolio photos, and anything you would rather not leave your machine. Pair resize (max longest side) with quality or WebP when you need email- or CMS-friendly sizes without opening an editor.

Need icons as markup instead of raster files? Try the SVG to Tailwind / CSS tool. For color values from a screenshot, use the Color Picker. Making a printable QR of a link? Open the QR Code Generator. Making a site icon? Try the Favicon Generator. Only need PNG ↔ JPEG ↔ WebP at full size? Use the Image Converter.

FAQ

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device, which is safer for screenshots, drafts, and client work.

Which format should I pick?

Same type keeps the original format. JPEG is good for photos. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency (but files stay larger). WebP usually gives the smallest files in modern browsers and apps.

Why is my file sometimes larger after “compress”?

Re-encoding a small, already-optimized image—or switching to a lossless format like PNG—can increase size. Lower quality, add a max dimension, or switch to JPEG/WebP.

Does quality affect PNG?

PNG is lossless, so the quality slider mainly helps JPEG and WebP. To shrink a PNG, resize it or convert to WebP/JPEG (JPEG drops transparency).

What does Max longest side do?

It caps the longer edge in pixels (width or height). A 4000×3000 photo with max 1920 becomes 1920×1440. Set 0 (or Original) to keep resolution and only change quality/format.

Can I compress many images at once?

This tool handles one image at a time so previews and settings stay clear. Compress, download, then replace with the next file.
